The ever mysterious Montreal group Ragers follow up their debut LP Raw Footage from 2018 with a new track and video to kick off a stream of new releases, "Zac"
This young group of artist is best known for their brand of urban electronic music mixed with tight raps and melodic vocals. This track displays their ability to write and perform sticky hooks that will have you craving for more. The band had this to say about the track, "ZAC is the internet. All the memes, narcissism, vacuous self-promotion and Insta-fame rolled up in a 2-minute stomper that screams ‘repeat’. Impossible to listen to Zac once and walk away. Strips off the sheen and listen to a perfect snapshot of modern life put to music."
This video, directed by Xavier Cantin-Lemieux, takes a day in the life approach and showcases the band taking part in everyday activities such as hitting the gym and the pool as well as their energy on stage. Ragers have such a diverse discography with a variety of collaborators, even if this song doesn't nail your vibe, there will absolutely be some tracks that you will find yourself returning to.
