Right on time for Black History Month, hip-hop artist Mdot releases powerful new visual to his lead single, "Runaway Slave (H.Tub)". The video features powerful visuals along with a captivating "Get Out" like scenario where the Staten Island native, Mdot, is taken captive and must rely upon a close friend for salvation. The song itself features empowering lyrics and a strong vocal presence from the artist as he details his survival tactics and instincts in a very gripping manner. The artist explains that the inspiration behind the song came from a combination of Hov's 'The Story of O.J.' as well as Kendrick Lamar's 'Look Out For Detox' . He adds that the sub-title H.Tub is to pay respect to the real runaway slave, Harriet Tubman.
"Runaway Slave (H.Tub)" is the lead single off of Mdot's debut project, 'Wh!pz N' Chain$', which he released mid-August of last year. Get the single here and check out Wh!pz N' Chain$ on all streaming services here.
