Born in Copenhagen, Denmark psychedelic outfit Mr. Koifish makes his EARMILK debut today with his new single "Be Loud." Morten Køie (pronounced similarly to "koi", like the fish) started the project to create music with an added visual experience.
Køie emphasises collective collaboration and a positive ethos of belonging in his music. In his latest video a collaboration with UK artist Jody Barton (cover artist for iconic albums like Phoenix’s ‘Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix’ and Beck’s ‘The Information’), the pair team up for a trippy lyric video. Giving off a bit of a Daft Punk vibe; colorful visuals, bubbling bass, and glassy detuned synths make "Be Loud" a strange, engaging journey from the start.
Getting inspiration from the mundane, Mr Koifish flips routine on its head. On "Be Loud" Køie says, "The psychedelic pictures painted tell a story about letting go and feeling carefree, seeing the world from far above, floating in that perfect place." Watch it above.
