Laid-back indie rock band The Dumes have just released their latest single 'More Than Physical'. With effortlessly relaxing vocals, the track showcases a simple soundscape featuring a steady drumbeat and soothing guitars.
Lead singer Elodie Tomlinson describes the song, “It’s that feeling you get when a friend starts becoming more than a friend. ‘More Than Physical’ is about something you want to run away from, but can’t.”
A music teacher by day, Tomlinson often wrote poetry as a teen, but never performed it. She finally set aside her five-time championship snowboarding career, replacing her snowboard with a six-string, and has been playing for audiences ever since. Many hours of listening to music as she hiked up the Utah mountains really inspired her to go after her dream.
The Dumes began in early 2018 after meeting co-producer Nick Schlike. Accumulating a multitude of influences from hip-hop’s boom bap to Patti Smith and The Pretenders, The Dumes' music highlights an unparalleled sound that is uniquely Tomlinson.
