Rogov, the solo moniker of multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter Gregory Rogove, has just released "Empty House," the fourth release in an ongoing series of monthly singles. With each intimate pluck of his guitar, rogov delivers an earnest performance full of stimulating imagery in this latest single. Hit play below:
Like a gentle bedside whisper to a lover in the dark, rogov's tender vocals evoke a paradox of poetic melancholy. The eloquent lyricism creates vivid imagery of a fleeting heart broadcasting a hopeful plea into the dark abyss. The string work dances elegantly along the track accompanied by a beautiful cello performance from Gregory's former Priestbird bandmate Danny Bensi (who recently co-composed the soundtrack for the film Boy Erased).
Gregory's previous projects include Piana, Megapuss (w/ Devendra Banhart), Priestbird, & Tarantula AD. He is a long-time drummer and collaborator with Devendra Banhart, and has worked with a number of other artists including: Rodrigo Amarante, Niia, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Natalia LaFourcade, CocoRosie, Sons of the Sea (Brandon Boyd), and Zavalaz (members of Mars Volta), and Adam Green among others.
