Australian trio daste has returned with their sophomore single, "SOBER." The group debuted in summer 2018 with an assertion of a mature sound of their own that incorporates a swath of elements from indie, electronic and pop music. With their latest, they're establishing that they aren't just a triple threat in pure numbers from the creative direction of three friends Callum MacDonald, Braxton Tahi, and Tyler Harden, but in an ability to remain in sync in songwriting, production and composition.
"SOBER" has a construction of elements whose simplicity when separate makes for a greater reward when they're put together in the right way. Groovy synth wave inspirations, retro fueled sounds of electro pop, and the subtle emotion of lo-fi make "SOBER" a relatable, inviting track with legs for just about any moment. And that doesn't even touch on the relatable lyrics.
