Some impressive networking has taken place in the French house music scene, with Tim Baresko remixing "Monte Carlo," a track from Mercer's 2018 Neo Disco EP. The original track embodied everything that comes to mind when considering the song's namesake city: sunshine basking on flashy, retro flare in the name of disco. But in its 2019 essence, Baresko has taken the track to deeper and clubbier places. Its execution is addicting in its ability to capture the cool of the underground dance floor while also giving glimpses into the idealism of its disco origins – perfect for the summer season, or at least what we can imagine of it in January.
