Danielle Bradbery covers “Slow Burn” in year end live series

One of the albums I can’t shut up about from 2018 is Kacey Musgraves’s Golden Hour. So when Texan-born singer Danielle Bradbery covered the opening track “Slow Burn” (my absolute favourite track from the album), I basically ran to my computer the moment it was published. The filmed live performance is part of Bradbery’s project Your Truly: 2018, a collection of covers of her favourite songs of the the year. The project also includes covers of Ariana Grande and Post Malone.

Bradbery is a natural performer. She won season 4 of NBC’s The Voice, and quickly began to carve her name into the country music scene. Under her belt already is a signed contract with Big Machine Records, and a duet with known Nashville sweetheart Thomas Rhett. She is the perfect person to pay tribute to fellow Texan Musgraves, who pens the self- describing track. I suggest sitting back and taking your time, letting Bradbery serenade you through a slow burn.

Based in Toronto but my mind is always somewhere else. I like coffee, a good banjo solo, and binge-watching British TV shows.
