Grime act Marci Phonix doesn't mince his words on the sequel of his controversial new series #BlackFriday. The fiery emcee goes for the jugular on the track as he exposes some unspoken home truths over a gritty, anthemic soundscape quelled only by the rapper's verbal punches. He talks about life in the Brexit era, the current economic downturn, and overall unrest with a no-nonsense flow and clever and one-liners.
Directed by Luke Biggins & Marci Phonix, the visual is a mix of Michael Jackson’s Thriller and Grime but the main difference here is the monsters in Phonix's video are real (referring to the government). Always have been outspoken, he garnered some notoriety earlier this year when he blasted Tory MP Kwasi Kwarteng live on air on Channel 4 News over the Windrush scandal earlier this year.
"Black Friday 2" is part of the trilogy, with the third and final installments coming before the end of the year.
