The DMV is home to many of our favorite and most creative artists right now – such as Wale, Goldlink, Masego, Brent Faiyaz, Innanet James, and the list goes on. Let me introduce you to a trio that is sure to be added to your list of DMV favorites – Lo Village.
Lo Village perfectly blends R&B and hip-hop to create a truly unique sound; and their latest single “Souvenirs” is the perfect example of just that. As if the new single weren’t enough, Lo Village has a new video for “Souvenirs” that will have you thinking you took a trip back to 1990.
“Souvenirs” is an absolute bop with its funky guitar riffs and instant groove factor. The cut features an ode to Tony! Toni! Toné!’s 1990 jam “Feels Good”. The video shows VHS aesthetic flashes back and forth between multiple shots one being at a roller rink and another in front of the Washington Monument. From their style to the way they complement each other, Lo Village gives me City High vibes, which I’m definitely here for.
“Souvenirs” is Lo Village’s cap to 2018, but I hope they bring this same energy into 2019.
