Made By Pete releases groovy ‘Safe House’ EP

Joining Gruuv's roster, DJ and producer James Edwards, under the guise of Made By Pete, welcomes us into his new sonic world in Safe House. The prolific producer curates a gallery of lively dance beats alongside dynamic sound manipulation, highlighting his extensive career in the industry.

A blissful landscape retaining sounds akin to a tropical rainforest, title track "Safe House" open the EP with an amalgamation of organic percussive hits, metallic chimes and bumpy bass for a reposed groove. Penny F lends her exquisite vocals for a sensual lure, hooking us in as airy stab-led synths ground us in the composition. Made By Pete ups the ante a notch in "Justify Your Move", taking the sound back to a deeper world of groove. The modulated drum patterns in conjunction with the tension building strings, are expertly layered over layers of punchy stab sequences, giving the track a unique dub feel.

Dave DK rounds out Safe House with two fresh remixes of the title track, including a chilling instrumental one laden with congo drums and other organic reverbs. The producer takes "Safe House" for a more tropical and exotic twist, emphasizing the heady tribal drums with further percussion elements; notably, Penny F's vocals are processed for a psychedelic touch.
