Amethysts’ new single “How It Is” is addictive from the first note and it's no surprise that the British indie electronic are taking the United Kingdom by storm. Their first tracks have already been featured on BBC Radio 1, with over a million streams on several platforms. This newest single will only maximize the hype.
The single was produced by Shuta Shinoda, known for acts such as Daughter and Ghostpoet. “How It is” is a mesmerizing display of vocals and ethereal soundscapes. Utilizing everything from electric guitar and synthesizer, the outcome is a brilliant pop creation. I will never not be a fan of the way airy vocals and a soft beat melded together can form a breathtaking atmosphere. Amethysts truly pull it off. The duo isn’t just slaying the sound on “How It Is”, but also on penning a track with relatable content:
“‘That’s just how it is’ is a phrase that’s thrown around all too easily. You can’t manifest anything positive with negativity. Everything can be changed, anything can be the way you want it to be, if you truly believe in yourself and do something about it. “How It Is” explores modern life struggles, stigmas and tackling self doubt.”
