Australian dance trio RÜFÜS DU SOL, have recently released their long awaited album ‘SOLACE.’ After spending time in Venice creating their new album, they’ve come out with an exquisite project inspired by the rugged surroundings of the ocean and desert in Southern California.
“It feels like a new RÜFÜS,” the trio says. “We are inspired by our new home in California, by the people we’ve met and the music we’ve heard along the way. We’ve got a refreshed sense of ambition and cannot wait to share our creation with the world.”
Already having had a taste of three tracks from the album, fans have been patiently waiting for the project to drop. Seamlessly flowing from one track to the next, ‘SOLACE’ delivers mesmerizing soundscapes, atmospheric crescendos and an overall true RÜFÜS sound with a California twist.
Exploring a darker groove, “Eyes” encapsulates a magical tone with an upbeat dance groove. The track embodies a kinetic energy which contrasts nicely to the smoother songs within the project.
“New Sky” fully epitomizes the new RÜFÜS sound with its passivity and harmonious tranquility. The expressiveness of the lyrics bring them to another level of interpretation and truly demonstrate the maturity that the trio has harvested during the making of this album.
The intimate title track “Solace” features an introspective and lucid vibe, truly showcasing their new sound. The song highlights a dramatic musical and lyrical approach, which is hard to come by in this genre.
Ending the stunning exhibition with “Another Life," leaves us with close to seven minutes of euphoric soundscapes and ethereal vocals rounding out an introspective and captivating message.
‘SOLACE’ showcases the musical and spiritual growth within the group. It seems as though the trio has truly found their sweet spot within their progressive and heartwarming musical attributes. This album is one that will bring their music to the masses.
