Damn, how long has it been since we've heard new music from DAP The Contract? The correct answer is too long. While the rest of the music world has kept to their usual business of making music, however, DAP has spent the past few months hard at work getting his law degree and yet, he still somehow has found the time to release some new music.
Feast your eyes and ears on his latest video, “Hell Yeah,” below.
In typical DAP fashion, the Lagos born artist handled 95% of the creation of the track and video, from the productions and lyrics to the directing and mixing. The only small things he outsourced were the filming (done by Rekha Luciano) and a portion of the mixing (handled by Elliot Bradley).
Sonically, “Hell Yeah” is an electro framed joint with a positive flare. The video, however, introduces the viewer to several different characters or personalities, all played by DAP, as he spits his respective verses. Hard to say what exactly they allude to, but DAP noted “Hell Yeah” serves as an “introduction to a lot of the characters that will be part of the album.”
