When the most feared afrobeat band in New York (just ask Questlove?) decides to flip your song, who are you to say no? Singer-songwriter Anomie Belle's previously released song "Right Way" gets a total makeover by Antibalas and it's totally mind-blowing. Just listening to this is crazy in itself as the original record is a surreal electro-pop song but Antibalas took that and totally transformed it into something new and refreshing. You hardly hear pop-styled melodies over energetic Afrobeat backdrops so that there is quite novel. The multi-layered instrumentation, rollicking drums, and triumphant horns take the song to a whole other spiritual level à la Fela Kuti and makes for a solid groovy record.
