Nala reads our minds with "Telepathy" and delivers a stroke of brilliance

LA-native, Nala, began her musical journey four years ago as an upstart DJ. Circulating through the scene, she soon rose to prominence performing alongside acts like SOFI TUKKER, Purple Disco Machine, TOKiMONSTA, and more. Now, Nala is ready for a musical shift with her new single, "Telepathy." The track features an anonymous vocalist – as will each track from her upcoming EP – symbolizing the universal female ethos and spirit.

Deep tribal shuffles and sharp ghostly vocals enter with a mysterious vibrance on "Telepathy." Think Bonobo-like ethereal sonics combined with Nicolaas Jaar's dark experimentation. The flavor is sultry and strong showing off Nala's prowess as a producer. This track achieves both a sexy, four-on-the-floor dance beat while still maintaining a dark downtempo nature. Each section shrouded in uncertainty.

Don't hold back

How can I get to know you,

How can I get to know you,

If you don't think outloud

Thematically, the track touches on a breakdown in communication and aims to bridge the gap that lingers, even when two parties want the same thing. It's a calling card that is both thrilling and hypnotic. If it's any indication, Nala has an incredible new release waiting in the wings. After proving herself as a talented DJ and producer, it's safe to say Nala's foray into a more indie landscape will be well-received.
