Indie pop artist Lucy & La Mer shows off her confident swagger in her acclaimed new single “Got That Thing”. She’s just released a video for the track and it perfectly illustrates her experiences in the world of online dating in a fun and relatable way. Featuring a bright melody, jangly electric guitars and witty lyrics paired with an upbeat infectious chorus, "Got That Thing" is a standout anthem.
Watching her fumble through a series of awkward dates is something most people can connect with and makes us all feel not alone in our dating endeavors.
Dating all different types of people and all genders she’s not afraid to be herself with openness in her sexuality. Lucy reveals, “I wanted to make a video that was fun and add a little humor to the idea of online dating. It takes a lot of courage and self-confidence to put yourself out there. Sometimes you make a new friend, sometimes it’s love, sometimes it’s just an insanely awkward moment in time and you never see them again. In the end, it’s all about getting to know yourself better because you learn what you like and don’t like."
Lucy & La Mer is garnering attention for her unmistakable live shows complete with colorful attire and imaginative stage decorations. She’s hosted numerous fundraising concerts at the LGBT Center, but her most surprising show was her Locks of Love benefit where she cut off 15 inches of her hair on stage to show her support.
Having performed with high profile names in the industry such as electronic artist Moby and folk musician Joseph, Lucy & La Mer is an artist on the rise. Check out her new video for "Got That Thing".
