Born and raised in L.A., songwriter and producer Bret James got his start like most LA-bound big-eyed dreamers, as an actor and performer at the start age of 5! Having had a fair amount of time to dedicate to his art, he's turned his musical project into an infectious, soul-driven and effortlessly cool style. His latest release "Girl Was Born To Freak" is an electro funk groove, with heavy soul moving guitar gifts, and is  "a true story about a girl who chooses to love many and does not want to be tied down," shares Bret.

Bret is part of The 13th Grade Collective, with some of the biggest names in dance music like NGHTMRE, J-Louis, Slander and Zacari to name a few and has been featured on SLANDER's smooth "Slow Motion". "Girl Was Born to Freak" is the second track off of his forthcoming EP.
