The newly signed Republic Records up-and-coming alt-pop singer-songwriter No/Me is making quite an entrance with her debut single "Consistent." Hit play on the exclusive EARMILK premiere below:
“Consistent” is a bombardment of brooding orchestral swells and an unyielding emotion-filled vocal delivery that makes this a hard-hitting alt-pop track that's easy to fall in love with. No/Me's voice contains a unique deeper undertone that reinforces the track with a certain weight that distinguishes her from the typical high-pitched gentle whispers plaguing modern electro-pop singers. But even beyond this impassioned vocal delivery, there's an earnest dimensionality behind her songwriting. Each lyric contains a window of self-critique that provide a sense of deeper vulnerability that draws in and truly captures the listener. No/Me can package a turbulence of sound and emotions into one alt-pop track and it's what makes her an artist to keep an eye out for.
The track was inspired by her recent attempt at online dating. She readily lists off all of her flaws: she’s a skeptic and a cynic, neurotic and narcissistic, a freak who’s “got the best intentions.” About the track, No/Me shares, "‘Consistent’ feels like a page from my journal. Writing this song made me embrace parts of myself that were hard to face, but it also helped me stop curating the facade that people would prefer to see.”
The Los Angeles-based musician has always had a relentless focus on making it in music. While studying at UCLA, she double majored in musicology and music industry, while balancing nighttime gigs with her previous rock band. Now, as a new signee with Republic Records, there's nothing stopping her. No/Me has further music set for release this fall, so stay updated on her social links below.
