Truly, tech house has become a phenomenon that has been spreading further into the international music scene from its humble yet innovative beginnings. While more and more artists rise to the occasion of becoming and/or are dipping their toes into tech house, one NYC DJ/producer has caught our eye with his unique, funky twists on this genre.

Over the years, Alan Nieves has proved himself repeatedly, and has been doing his share to keep his sound deep, funky and taut; his dedication and tenacity has paved the way for a series of successful releases on established labels, building up his reputation and name with ease. Now, to substantiate his talent further, Nieves is back with his debut EP Dirty Lie off of Mar-T's essential imprint, Wow! Recordings with official release being slated for September 7th.

In anticipation of this, EARMILK is proud to exclusively premiere the 3rd track off of Dirty Lie, "Acid Mind".

"Acid Mind" indeed melts our mind into an acidic puddle of sonic euphoria – a heady, trippy ride into the after-hours. Dark, sensual and funky, Nieves steadily builds up the tune with progressive hi-hats and subtle synth stabs. Distorted vocal samples murmuring "losing control tonight" reverberates throughout the track, masterfully tying in the darkness of the track to the groove. Not shying away from utilizing percussion loops, Nieves further exemplifies the dark overtones with a rugged bass line that hits hard on our tech house loving souls. Indeed, "Acid Mind" is an off-kilter, deeply contagious tune that perfectly showcases Nieves's abilities as a producer.

‘Dirty Lie’ EP is available exclusively via Beatport on September 7th and everywhere else two weeks later. Preorder the EP here.
