Enigmatic production team Snugs is back with their latest single, the rollicking future pop jam "Never Needed You" featuring Keiynan Lonsdale. Electronic music fans may remember Lonsdale from Kasbo's "Lay It On Me," which appeared on the Swedish producer's celebrated debut studio album Places We Don't Know in March 2018. The track aligns with Snugs' playful modus operandi, featuring subtle-yet-bright arpeggios and a bubbly chorus packed with warm future bass chords. Lonsdale's aching lyrics, which promote realization and resiliency in the face of a toxic relationship, work well with the song's buoyant production. Snugs is also preparing to release their debut EP, which will be accompanied by an animated storyline telling their character's story, with "Never Needed You" being accompanied by the first of a three-part story.
