Last year, Los Angeles indie pop band LANY, best known for their 2015 hit "ILYSB," released their debut self-titled album. At times, the sixteen synth-filled tracks on the album worked to praise the better times in relationships – but didn't shy away from the less desirable moments when necessary. In the past, LANY have weaved their emotional lyrical content throughout the sounds of dreamy synths and soft pop moments, making it easy to get caught up in the sound and overlook the emotional outpour taking place.
On LANY's newest single, "I Don't Wanna Love You Anymore," the synths are just as dreamy, except this time around it's almost impossible to ignore the woeful aura of the lyrics. A question is posed by frontman Paul Klein, "How'd you change your mind just like that?" before he moves on to the decision making process, singing "The only way to get past this feeling, is to tell myself you're not coming back."
"I Don't Wanna Love You Anymore" is the second track LANY has released this year, following up last month's "Thru These Tears," comprising the lead singles for the band's second album, Malibu Nights, which has yet to receive an official release date.
