Warung Recordings, the Brazilian label founded in 2012, count John Monkman, Lauren Lane, Hot Since 82 and Wehbba among the artists whos productions, live sets and remix work have found a home within the beach club brand. Continuing to bring the life and soul of the famous club and its party to the world, Hernan Cattaneo & Lonya provide the latest release, Confession with HOSH and Tone Depth on remix duties.
Cattaneo, hailing from Argentina and charting releases on Renaissance and Balance, is a resident DJ at the Warung club and pushes the infectious energy from the dance floor into productions – on Confession he's joined by Israeli DJ and producer Lonya. The end result of the pairing of these producers is an EP just as super-charged as it is sublime. "Confession" is the lead track, teaming lush chords with a float-away groove – perfect for a fully immersed crowd. A dub mix of the title track is also a closer on the EP, taking a more minimal turn and letting the drums pave the way. The HOSH and Tone Depth remix is an outstanding rework of "Confession". Heavy, hypnotising drums from the outset lead into uplifting chords and pads making this an emotional and progressive track – if you close your eyes, you can almost imagine the sun coming up.
