Brooklyn-born rapper Dyme-A-Duzin is undeniably New York. He just released his highly anticipated project Crown Fried, which has been in the works for at least three years. Crown Fried is a collection of 16 songs that, in their easygoing nature, blend a boom-bap rap style with experimental but modern drum patterns. Dyme-A-Duzin exudes the poise of a veteran and the hunger of a rookie on Crown Fried; he balances slick raps with smoky melodies that make it impossible to put his sound in any sort of box. The project's best moments include the single "That Chicken," "Stadium Lights / Posters," and "The Rebirth," the last of which features the late Pro Era rapper Capital Steez.
