Soul act Nia Ekanem delivers nothing but raw emotions on his new record "Fadin."
The new record is a follow up to his debut EP, It’s Your Love. This EP first pushed the rising artist into the limelight. Not one to rest on his oars, Nia is back in the fold. And, "Fadin" serves as his first 2018 release. The gruff-voiced singer brings back vintage soul-drenched vibes on this record. Engulfing instrumentation and encapsulating melodies set the scene. But, it's Lloyd Hinshelwood who helps garnish Nia's vocals with the perfect backdrop (solid guitar riffs, and lush piano keys). As we a result, we are fully immersed from start to finish.
However, the reason for such an emotive approach Ekanem says stemmed from a conversation he had with his producer Lloyd and songwriter Alba. The trio shared experiences from past relationships. And, to sum up. In doing so, they tried to recreate the various emotions through a sonic landscape.
