LP Giobbi just finished wrapping up a tour this past season in support of Sofi Tukker. "These Are Your Children" was released via Sofi Tukker's newly released record label, Animal Talk Records. The single pays homage to the '90s club kids, sampling the voice of infamous party kid Michael Alig. According to the release: One of LP’s first loves is the piano house genre, so she used a Korg M1—the originator of the sound. Honestly, when I listen to this, I feel like Mary Mark and the Funky Bunch are about to break out with a b2b with Haddaway. I want to vogue and b-boy all at the same time to the looped piano melody and bouncy beat.
With a stratospheric production and rhythm, LP Giobbi is delivering a menacing new sound back to the dance scene. For me, this is a much-welcomed sound to challenge that lower BPM tech house that's been starting to become a norm across the genre. With infectious fast-paced rhythms like these, LP Giobbi is bringing people out of their seats with sincere, feel-good dance music and is the latest of artists you should certainly be keeping on your radar.
