Proxy breaks down the 'Language Barrier' with "Aida" [Premiere]

One thing that sets dance music apart from other genres is the ability of electronic music to bring together artists, labels, and listeners united by the love of a particular sound yet separated by vast distances. This week is no different, with Hanover, Germany based This Ain’t Bristol enlisting Russian artist Proxy for a 3-track EP aptly named Language Barrier, out tomorrow May 11th.

Proxy starts off the middle track, “Aida,” with an ethereal playfulness and strong beat reminiscent of a mid-city, nighttime drive. Soon enough though, the raw sound that permeates the bass evokes an unmistakable gritty, metropolitan scene full of adventure. That harshness, however, is never allowed to fully takeover the track, as the vocal loop and synths ground it harmoniously. While the EP is named Language Barrier, the music speaks for itself.

This is definitely one track and EP you won’t want to miss. Pick it up on Beatport tomorrow May 11th.
