Welsh singer/songwriter Greta Isaac has returned to the music scene with another strong single. Premiering today on EARMILK, "Undone" is irresistible and seductive, but also playful.
In keeping with pop contemporaries like HAIM and Maggie Rogers, Isaac uses driving percussion and inhabits a space between acoustic and electronic. "Undone" is cleverly written, "an ode to our ego and the embodiment of narcissism and possessiveness when it comes to love and relationship," says Isaac.
As a songwriter, Isaac is showing great promise. She elaborates that "'Undone' is a character who adores to be adored and sees people as fun challenges to be pursued, where the goal is to make them fall in love with you where the feelings will never be reciprocated." The track feels annoyingly familiar, calling out the vaguely sociopathic swipe-dating-age joy in playing games with people's emotions.
