Moorea Masa & The Mood return with another beautiful song in "Ever Moving"

Moorea Masa & The Mood are back with their latest single, “Ever Moving.” Unlike their previous release, “Can’t Tell,” which was bursting at the seams with love and passion, Masa’s latest is a somber song about love lost.

However, much like “Can’t Tell,” "Ever Moving" is beautifully choreographed and sung, with Moorea handling the vocals and guitar while the rest of her band builds the track around her.

Moorea Masa’s voice is incredible. It’s soft and light, yet firm when necessary. She has no problem contorting it to fit her lyrics, which makes listening to her feel like a dream. Second, her band, The Mood, kick ass. It’s one thing to let the vocalist take control and simply chill in the background providing the frame, but it’s another to take over for the bridge and leave Ms. Masa on the sidelines. Love that the band gets the spotlight, even if it’s only for a handful of seconds. It’s a beautiful way to separate the verses and prime the listener for what’s to come in the second half of the song. Finally, “Ever Moving” is a sweet song. You can hear Masa’s passion in her voice as she sings. That type of emotion can’t be forced or fake; it only happens naturally.

Moorea Masa & The Mood are gearing up to release their debut album, Shine A Light, out everywhere May 11. Judging by her past two singles, it’s without a doubt a must listen for 2018.
