Here’s a glorious coming together of two nu disco geniuses, Xinobi and Tensnake. Later this week the Portuguese producer Xinobi will be releasing a remix package for his track “Far Away Place” and today EARMILK is premiering Tensnake’s fiery remix.
Tapping into that classic-inspired disco feel with strings, funky synths, and silky female vocals, this “Far Away Place” remix is contagious. German producer Tensnake is notorious for playing up the synths–it’s how early tracks like “Coma Cat” and “In The End (I Want You To Cry)” have become nu disco classics. His treatment of Xinobi’s “Far Away Place” is certainly one to remember. Xinobi speaks of the track:
"I've been a fan of Tensnake since his ground breaking track 'Coma Cat.' I was really happy when he accepted the invitation to work his magic on the beautiful 'Far Away Place.' He turned the atmospheric dark vibe of the original into an outstanding luminous disco track, ready to have everyone smiling and dancing. Summer’s near, and this will be a part of it!"
Alongside the Tensnake remix, the Far Away Place EP features a remix by Pete Herbert and one by Jody Wisternoff & James Grant. Look for the full EP to be released April 20th on Discotexas, Xinobi’s label with fellow groovers Moullinex and Mr. Mitsuhirato.
