Burnt team up with Karmic Basis and come out smoking on the rollicking "Ugly Dubling"

It's all positive vibes from the California-based reggae-rock group Burnt.

It's actually two-dimensional to call them just a reggae-rock group – the band actually blends dub, ska, soul, hip-hop, and punk into their repertoire of sounds as well. On their newest record titled "Ugly Dubling," the band team up with MC/producer Karmic Basis and together send forth a smooth trail of positively charged new age dub our way. The laidback, hypnotic track pays homage to the vintage dub records, mostly with the approach: recorded over an original drum pattern sequenced by the band. Karmic Basis overdubbed his verse and chorus vocal tracks while Burnt frontman D-Franx, then doubled up the chorus with his characteristic throaty vocal delivery.

Maintaining a strictly do-it-yourself approach to recording and releasing music and booking shows, playing anywhere from street corners and parks to festivals across the West Coast. The band have released eight LPs and two mixtapes since inception, and are currently working on new material throughout 2018.
