Coming in hot, Alexander Lewis just dropped an unannounced remix of TOKiMONSTA's hit "Don't Call Me ft. Yuna." This nice Friday surprise from EDM's resident jazz man bears his unmistakable touch.
TOKi's original vision carried echoes of a futuristic lounge sound for heartbreaks in outer space, but Alexander warms the track up with organic waveforms suitable for a terrestrial and analog heartbreak. Hi-hats skitter over the surface of a deep and rich vacuum tube smooth bassline. Like the original, Yuna's voice features prominently as the track works its way to an echoey finish.
Lewis has opened 2018 on an absolute tear, starting with his original track "March" being chosen by the Superbowl winning Philadelphia Eagles for use in their hype video, followed by the viral success of his remix of TroyBoi's "Flamez." While he's become known for his harder hitting sound, this remix reminds us that Lewis is a producer with talent that spans the emotional spectrum.
