After delivering the nostalgia-inducing track "Picture Day" a while back, Bay Area representative Gark Mavigan is back with his full-length project titled 'Good Choices'. The 10 track project is pretty cohesive as he blends a solid mix of Bay area vibes, soulful backdrops laced with his personal/insightful lyrics that ties everything together. Gark definitely got this hip-hop thing on lock as each track takes the listener deep into the mix of things from the bouncy opener "Jeff Hornacek," the laid-back "So Many Things," and the poignant "I'm Ready" (Ft. Spongebob Squarepants).
The project is pretty cohesive as the producers involved really craft solid soundscapes to fit Gark's malleable flow and content. Nothing here sounds way off as we are treated to the lush sounds from producers such as Ian Ewing, Koolade, The Grey Orange and others. 100% of proceeds from this record are going to two non-profits in the Bay Area that provide a platform for emerging artists: Lyrical Opposition of SF, and With Our Words, Inc. of Stockton, CA.
