When listing out the techno greats, Carl Cox is always on the list. By simple transitive property then, techno and house's roots are just as much in his veins. On his latest project, he's partnered with Eric Powell to create MD Funk Connection, and its first single as a project, "Shante." Funky, and taking notes from disco and everything groovy and nostalgic, "Shante" has soul meets dance music written all over it. Using Joe Roberts as a partner on engineering and employing infectious scat vocals, "Shante" should be something we hear across the festival season.
