Nashville-based artist DAANI has a catchy new single which shows off her dusty soulful vocals and edgy indie electro style. Teaming up with producer Jeremy Claudio and songwriter Yah Yah, the resulting “Two Hands” is a refreshing approach to modern pop. That classic tale of heartbreak gets sassed up in the swaying melodies of DAANI's voice coming together with the funky syncopated rhythms of the backing track.
Known for having performed backing vocals for artists like Miley Cyrus, The Roots, and Sheryl Crow, you can certainly hear that soulful, country-tinged aesthetic in the tone of DAANI's voice. It's garnered her strong comparisons to head-turning voices like Sia, Jessie Ware, and Lapsley. “Two Hands” follows the release of DAANI's self-titled EP last year. Her single “Black Heart” also saw great success in the official The Hunger Games: Mockingjay trailer. With such explosive early efforts, I'm sure we'll be seeing much more of DAANI after “Two Hands.”
