8 Graves digs within to find reasons to "Smile" [Premiere]

8 Graves, the self described future grunge duo from NYC, accepts that the world is a lonely place. While their productions tend to be dark and bleak, they also project a hopefulness from within that brooding space. Ultimately, their hope is to lighten the weight of existence by making music that others caught in a lonely place can connect to.  Continuing in the successful wake of their most recent single, "Hang," which racked up 1 million streams on Spotify alone, 8 Graves premieres their latest track on EARMILK.

"Smile" is a electronic-rock hybrid rollercoaster ride of sanguine lows and and soaring synthy highs. On the track 8 Graves recreates the lows associated with being away from music and feeling completely lost and the high of fighting for and making the decision to take one last chance to try to take control. When speaking of the inspiration for the track, singer Brent says, "The most interesting part of it, though, is that no matter how dark and defeated a lot of 'Smile' is, it still details one of my strongest moments. That moment in which I decided to fight, to stay alive, and to give myself one last chance at trying to find my place in the world."
