If you're making a list of bass artists to watch in 2018, make sure you include Justice Skolnik. The Bay Area talent has been steadily carving a name for himself in recent years with official remixes for the likes of Eva Shaw, Lost Kings, and Matoma. Now Skolnik takes on a sacred piece of future bass lore in Flume's iconic track "Sleepless" off his self-titled debut album. Widely heralded as the artist who first brought the synthy feel good brand of bass music that is now known as "future" into the public eye, Flume is someone you don't remix lightly. However Justice Skolnik is up for the task, and his thoughtful sound design not only pays homage to the glory of the original, but also serves as a retrospective on how far the genre has come in the six (WOW) years since its release.
Long live future bass.
