Makeness shares the groovy "Stepping Out Of Sync" ahead of Secretly Canadian debut [Video]

Kyle Molleson, the mind behind Makeness, has been working toward the release of his debut full-length album. Closing out last year with the textured chilled out rhythms of “Day Old Death,” Makeness left everyone craving more of that smoothness. Alongside this week’s announcement of his album Loud Patterns, Molleson also shared a new video and track called “Stepping Out of Sync.”

Makeness channels more of an upbeat and positive pop energy with this track when compared to some of his previous releases. It gives his sound a label somewhere between chill house and dance punk, best described as Caribou meets Hot Chip. “Stepping Out of Sync” will surely be an instant obsession for anyone feeling this description. It’s a nonchalant groove that seems to just embody cool—especially with the subtle dance moves and editing in the video.

Look for “Stepping Out Of Sync” as part of the full Makeness album Loud Patterns, set for release April 6th via Secretly Canadian. It can be pre-ordered here digitally and physically, including the limited edition translucent yellow colored vinyl LP. Also, catch Makeness on tour along with Unknown Mortal Orchestra, dates below.
