Negash Ali has certainly led a tough, more extraordinary life than most. In 1990, at just 16 years of age, and whilst pregnant with Negash, Ali’s mother was forced to flee the conflict between Eritrea & Ethiopia in the hopes of a better life for her one-year-old daughter and unborn child in Europe. He spent his first five years of life in various refugee camps before the family was granted asylum 1995. Growing up, Negash knew he was destined to be an artist and by 16, Negash saw European wide success with the group Majors, with whom he also performed at the 2 biggest HipHop Festivals in Europe; Kemp & Splash Festival.
Negash Ali debuts on EARMILK with his newest release, the video for his song "Tantra". The smooth flowing Negash brings nothing but sensual vibes on the Matias Saabye Kjødt aka Galimatias produced song with lines like "…A good heart with a filthy mind,… slip it to the side let me get you hypnotized, let me jet you to the skies..." Over the down tempo, dreamy backdrop the listener is introduced to a unique sexual spirituality that is alluring, calming and far from gratuitious explicitness. The chorus is supplied by singer/songwriter Fjer who comes through to garnish the song with her chilled angelic vocals.
The visuals directed by Ace Que brings the song to life with a blend of smooth shots using a purple hue aesthetic that denotes the ecstatic feel of the song. "Tantra" is the 1st single from Negash's upcoming album 'The Ascension' which is out on the 16th ofFebruary!! Stream on Spotify HERE
