The five-man band known as Mama's Gun takes us into the heart of London town in their new video for their song "London Girls". The song is a blend of funk and deep soul that really gets you moving from the get-go. The groovy drums, uplifting horns and of course frontman Andy Platts's captivating vocals that sticks in your head like white on rice. Speaking about the track, Andy Platts, who wrote the track in tribute to his mother, says: "I wanted to write a tune with 'London' in the title. For most of my career, I've been making American-influenced music and it's nice to do stuff that kind of points to where you're from and the fibre of your being. I also wanted to write something very empowering about the strong metropolitan London women, from the street to the boardroom."
The visuals blend the athletic skills of parkour artist Georgia Munroe traversing across iconic spots in London such as Trafalgar Square, The Square Mile, Southbank etc and shots of the band as they walk through similar spots. The anthemic "London Girls" is the first single taken from the upcoming album 'Golden Days' (release dateMay 18th, 2018). The band will be having an intimate pre-release show at The Social, London on Feb 8th.
