JP Reynolds's newest record "Dream Catcher" is a head-nodding jam layered with a universal subject matter that everyone can relate to. Over a James Gardin produced soulful backdrop, JP Reynolds speaks on his losses, his growth and everything in between as he aims to reach the apex. He raps "...Realize that it don't matter what you know/But it matter what happened to your soul…black boy had to switch them codes/Don't belong in any place he goes…".
JP also attributes the inspiration of the song to his dearly departed friends as he explains further.
"This song is what comes out of you when you lose 2 friends in as many years, learn deeply about yourself, and painfully decide to keep dreaming and moving in their name. ‘311’ is a salute to my friend Isaiah who wore numbers 3 and 11 when we were football teammates at Yale. ‘2 Times’ is a salute to my friend Sam whose first and last names mirrored each other. May they both rest in Peace and Power.”
It’s the first song in a series that Mount Vernon, NY raised JP Reynolds intends to continue throughout the year, releasing at least one song per month.
