Up and coming act Savv comes through swanging with a double feature on his latest release "out the city / pinksky.". The K-beatz produced trap banger is a 2 sided track that shows the unorthodox style he has to offer. The first half of the track is more upbeat and bouncy, this is here Savv dwells on his hustler spirit from leaving the busy downtown lifestyle to escape his inner demons, locking himself up in his house – ‘sleeping on the couch at my crib for like months’ – working tirelessly on music. The later half of "Pinksky" takes on a more abstract, gloomy vibe and serves as a turning point on the album. ‘Why don’t you ever tell me that you love me?’, Savv sings with appalling honesty. This dismal love song exposes Savv’s deepest insecurities. Through modulated vocalization, Savv conveys a distorted sense of his reality.
Following his first project “blue.”, Savv evokes the feelings of Toronto’s winter season in his ethereally-produced and introspectively written EP. The simple elegance in the sound of the album is met with Savv’s thematically dark undertones, a signature he has established for himself.
