Mt. Si is the dreamy project of Michael David (Classixx), Jesse Kivel (Kisses), and Sarah Chernoff (Superhumanoids). Together, the three achieve an ethereal blend of electronic synth pop filled with texture and rhythm. Today EARMILK is sharing Mt. Si’s new single “911,” which comes ahead of a full EP and later remix package. Leading with warm billowing synths and Sarah Chernoff’s ghostly vocals, “911” unfolds into a laid-back sensual groove complete with hazy saxophone solo.
The coming together of Mt. Si is certainly a match made in synth pop heaven. During the recording sessions for the debut Classixx album is when the three began working together. Michael asked Sarah and Jesse to contribute vocals, and that eventually led to the first Mt. Si Limits EP released a couple years back via the just as dreamy Cascine Records. It shows off Mt. Si’s knack for weaving together layers of instrumentation and vocals. “911” certainly picks up where the trio left off. The 911 EP will also see home on Cascine, look for its release February 16th.
