Remote Control is the sophomore full-length project by the three-man band known as the SoundProof Genie. The group specializing in fusing nu soul with tasty influences of jazz, psychedelic funk, and hip-hop serve up a 10-track body of work that showcases their musicianship on several levels. The hallmarks of SoundProof Genie are emotively captivating lyrics, lush, acoustically-driven soundscapes, and the alluring lead vocals of Raynita J. Kicking off with the introductory track "Djinni (The Genie)," and continuing to the reality check-giving "Don't Panic (Its Just a Color)," and the reflective "Hollow Love," the listener is subjected to a myriad of soothing sounds and deep introspective vibes.
SoundProof Genie is comprised of three talented musicians: P. Script, Raynita J and Bala. The trio have been playing live music in and around the Washington DC area all of their adult lives, and recently joined forces to drive music, lyrics, and vocals in a new direction. The band is supported by two full Albums, Evidence of Life and Remote Control, featuring powerful, introspective, and soulful lyrics, music, and vocals. The Soundproof Genie is attempting to lace the best of various genres to reach a wide audience looking for a unique vibe.
