Joey Dosik announces physical issue of "Game Winner" EP on Secretly Canadian

Joey Dosik's music is something very special. The musician is a vital part of an unusual, and brilliant LA scene, bringing vintage sounds into a contemporary context. The startling reminiscence to fantastically channelled breezy 1960s soul on "Game Winner" is incredible. And, furthermore, the result is probably the most timeless we've even heard in recent years. But, whilst the sound is light, there is also a deeper tale at work here.

Joey’s first love before music was basketball, and after blowing out his knee during a regular pick-up game, he found himself confined to the couch, waiting to resume his normal life. Constantly gravitating towards basketball, the sport soon began seeping into his songwriting. The Game Winner EP documents Joey's journey back to music and basketball with a new-found "anything is possible" attitude. The warm title track (and video) for "Game Winner" above sees Joey shooting hoops, and team huddling as part of his "Tigers" squad.

Originally self-released in June 2016 the unconventional and nostalgic Game Winner EP somehow slipped through our net at EARMILK. However, the remarkable deluxe release, is getting a physical issue with Secretly Canadian out on February 23rd, which we definitely recommend you pre-order here.
