California artist Isaac Galvez has been bringing the future funk heat for a few years now. After finding a good home on Stratford Ct where he can let his funk flag fly, he's shared with us a new track today. His new single "Moon Beams" prefaces the release of his upcoming album, Hypnosis, which will be out January 12th. "Moon Beams" kicks off strong with an undeniable groove, something you would hear on an Adult Swim bump. A squelchy bass line and confident drums hit the listener as the mellow synth pad and electric piano entice you further. Barely 30 seconds in, we're transitioning into a new section of the song. Digital cowbells and a swath of birds bring a balmy, tropical angle to the tune at this point.
By the track's midsection, we're treated to another rearrangement of sounds, with synth strings and some great phasered guitar, reminiscent of some early 80's video game soundtrack. It's a signal that Galvez must have a head full of ideas and wants to make sure the listener is treated to the maximum amount of dope sounds before the runtime is up.
