A New York-based Cameroonian artist who goes by the nom de plume Yonkwi debuts on EARMILK with a catchy and melodious tune titled "Salsa." Mixing trap and R&B with West African vocabulary, Yonkwi brings all his influences in one focused output. The upbeat, bouncy track was inspired by a night out in a strip club in Mount Vernon. Taking that idea, Yonkwi crafts the track about falling for a stripper and what ensues. "Salsa" is the second track in a 3-part EP series.
Yonkwi was born in Tokyo to Cameroonian parents, but at the moment he resides in New York . He is a one man band who produces, raps, sings, and mixes all his songs in his bedroom studio. He aims to also inspire his peers back home in the capital of Yaoundé.
