I became a fan of Thoreau back in December 2016, when he dropped his remix of Green Day's "Boulevard of Broken Dreams." It was a fresh blend of future bass and emo rock, which, if you are a 90's kid like me, you have to appreciate. I may have even polished off a Capri Sun that day.
A vivacious pop jam lush with bouncy chord progressions, "No Conversation" is the latest original from the young Colorado-based electronic producer. His production shines throughout, most notably in the drop and ensuing break. He uses meticulously pitched vocal chops to give the drop a little oomph, and then utilizes a sultry guitar riff. To boot, he even appears as a vocalist, contributing a nice top-line alongside MNYS. Singing on your own track is not an easy task, but Thoreau hits the nail on the head.
