West Coast beat maker EPROM, through his own blend of distorted and bizarre hip-hop beats, has developed a signature sound that's seen releases on classic labels from Warp to Rwina. Drone Warfare takes EPROM's West Coast sound and tosses it through a dystopian flame. "Full Mag"'s bass bounces and wobbles with delight over crunchy drums, "Oksana" throws listeners into an ambient loop scored by scratchy synths and vocal stabs, and "Raw Data" is a glitch lover's wet dream. The four track EP serves to reaffirm that EPROM is a master of nuance and someone worth paying attention to.
