Dave East continues to put NYC forward with his latest remixes

It is near impossible for an artist to remix a classic and make a whole new generation forget the original, but Harlem-native Dave East takes on the challenge to floss over two new mixes. To say that Dave East is one of the hardest worker newcomers to the rap game is an understatement. With his critically acclaimed debut making waves on radio and blogs, the New York emcee continues to pushes out more heat with his introduction to his "Eastmix" series. The "Perfect" rapper demonstrates that he can hold his own by tackling some classic tracks "Ain't No Ni**a" and Dame Grease's "Good Morning America". Dropping a smooth mix track for the sheets and another anthem for the streets.

Hailing from the streets of Harlem, the young emcee delivers some tough bars over the familiar beats. East has always had a certain cool bravado on a track, but he pays homage to Jay-Z by mimicking his flow on 96's Reasonable Doubt hit "Ain't No Ni**a" as he spits about his game in-between. Just like Hov and Foxy Brown on the original, East is accompanied by Ms. Hustle to add that female contrast. Both still deliver their respective personalities and flow, but considering that it's just a remix of a classic, it would be a lie to say that the two offer something greater than the original.

East moves forward a decade in music to the Dipset-era and adds his own take on "Good Morning America" from the 2000s Live on Lenox. The original is arguably a street anthem and gave fans tough bars from NYC legend Cam'Ron and Harlem's own H.O.T. Ones. The brief remix finds East tackling the obscure beat solo and flossing about his recent success, while still firing some warning shots at haters.

Both remixes came fresh on the heels of Easts' buzzworthy collab "Don't Try Me" ft. Lil Uzi Vert. The single, which is slated to be featured on an upcoming mixtape, is an infectious tune that finds both artists complementing each other well. East flossing over a hard-hitting Luca Vialli-produced beat, and Uzi delivering an auto-tuned assisted hook. The simple track is easily one that will be in heavy rotation in the clubs and radio.
